CRAZY Emmy

OK. Crazy girl! She went from totally mellow to bouncin' off the walls (well the bed really). And I promise, there had been no sugar, or chocolate, or nap. Can't have Emmy Lou crackin' out at 11pm. :) She's super excited to see her little bro'. Enjoy her message. Only 42 and 1/2 hours 'til touchdown. Can't wait to see you guys. Hope all goes well at the embassy for your friends today. Praying. LY! xoxoxo!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Emmy

John called it Green Patrick's Day and Emmy called it Patrick's Day. Corned beef and cabbage tonight. Mmmmm. Baked rainbow cupcakes with Ella's class today. Saved a few for our fam. Emmy and John couldn't wait. Hot day...88 degrees in LBC. Tanks, shorts, flip flops, and withering winter veggies. Hohum. I'll take the beautiful weather. All is well. Praying for Eyob, Becca, and Charlie. God, please bring them home as scheduled!

Let's Dance

Dave took Ella to a father-daughter dance. The pictures speak for themselves. I must say, she was delighted, he was smitten, and I forever adore my husband for loving my Little Love the way he does.

Did I mention...

i LOVE lucy!

Lucy to Zombie Robot

Yes, she went from Lucille Ball to looking like a zombie-robot and dancing like a robot to Axel F. A great talent show and appearance number 4 for little miss dancer.

i LOVE lucy.

What a blast! Tues. we scavenged thrift shops for the perfect outfit, jewels, and shoes. Last night we carefully rolled each strand of hair in curlers. This morning we unrolled, recurled, pinned, combed, sprayed, and giggled our way to a beautiful, 8 yr. old Lucille Ball. Here's what Lucy has to say about herself.

Valentine's Day @ School

Ella gave her friends Owls with pencils. She wrote, "I'll owl-ways be your friend."
John gave his friends rockets made of Rolos, Hershey's Kisses, and construction paper. They read "You're a Blast!"

John painted this at school. He usually paints something we're unable to decipher, though he will call most artwork 'a roller coaster'. What do you see here? A surfer carrying a surfboard jumps out to me.

I Guess I'm a Blogger

So I decided we needed a blog to document our family life. I don't scrapbook anymore, so the kids need something to revisit later. Of course, our day was totally uneventful, so now I'm not even sure what to write about. Hmmm...

Ella had soccer, she loves it. She's working on a report for school about Lucille Ball. Turns out Lucille and Jennie Belle Beal (my paternal grandmother) were born 1911 and both died in 1989. Interesting. I imagine Grandmother would have laughed at Lucy Ricardo, but would not have approved of Lucille's smoking and divorcing. You had to know Jennie Belle.

Barb came by today. I love her. Knee surgery 3 weeks ago and she's already out driving and running errands. Amazing.

My car is in the shop. (That's going to cost a nice chunk of change.) Dave and I were discussing tomorrow's driving arrangements and he stopped talking mid-sentence. That was it. Dave fell asleep. He is now snoring on the couch and I'm left wondering how I'm going to get around town tomorrow. Maybe I'll put John in my bike basket and ride through town.
